Leslie Forrest Rowland's Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Leslie Forrest Rowland announce his sudden passing due to COVID complications on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at the age of 63.
Leslie was a very proud native Houstonian. He grew up in the Southeast area of Houston and after graduating from Dobie High School, Les became an able-bodied seaman and spent several years traveling the world on ships. He worked as a GM for a large boat storage company in Conroe and in the latter years of his life, moved to Alvin to be near his family.
Anyone who knows Leslie will tell you that he is a unique guy with a heart of gold.
He loved the beach, rock and roll, his dogs, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Most of all, he loved his family and he loved God. Les will be dearly missed.
Leslie was preceded in death by his partner Cathy Colvin and father, Captain Jack W. Rowland. He is survived by his mother, Carol “Sissy” Gross, sisters Amy Rowland and Kerry Rowland Gaughan, nieces Holly Hall and Lindsey Gaughan, Aunts Peggy Jobes and Judy King, along with many cousins and friends. Not to be left out are his beloved fury friends, Labradors Scooby Doo, White Boy, and his shadow Minnie Me, his 5 pound Chiweenie.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 31, 2021 at South Park Funeral Home (1310 North Main Street, Pearland, TX. 77581). Due to South Park’s COVID restrictions, the funeral will be held at the graveside and not indoors.
