Leola Marie Cooper's Obituary
Leola Marie Wells was born in Hearne Texas on October 4, 1928. She later moved to Houston, TX. where she met and was married to Ralph G. Cooper until his death in 2006.
Leola Marie (Wells)Cooper (AKA Chutie) was a Pillar of both her Community and her Family. She was a sister, a wife, a friend and a successful business woman, owning several dry cleaners throughout the city of Houston.
Although Mrs. Cooper had no children of her own, her arms stretched far and wide, touching the lives of all she knew. She represented whatever you stood in need of. If you needed a mother, she was a mother to the motherless, if you needed a friend she was a friend to the friendless. She spoke truth with authority and command, but listened and affirmed with a gentle hand. She was truly a child of the King.
Mrs. Cooper closed her eyes requesting the presence of God. During her transition from her earthly tabernacle, she echoed out loud “Open the door”, “Open the door”. Mrs. Cooper was ready to go and be with the Lord. She closed her eyes and peacefully went to be with Christ on April 16, 2023. She was 94 years old.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sisters and brothers, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She is survived by Willie Brooks, Anthony Jones(Nephew) Elisa Jones(Great Niece)Cedric Jones (Nephew)John Wayne Wells (Great Nephew)Ki’Ara Wells (Great Great Niece)Zi’Coreyiah Stevens (Great, Gerat, Great Niece)Cortlandt Wells (Great Great Nephew)Carson Wells(Great,Great,Great Nephew)Camila Wells(Great,Great, Great Niece)Jessie Henry(Great Nephew)Ursula Morgan(Great Niece)Aquila Murchison(Great, Great Niece)Jace Murchison Felton(Great, Great, Great Nephew)Desire Davis(Great, Great Niece) Kevin Murchison(Great Nephew)Sherwana Brooks(Great Niece)
