Mr. Leo Kimble's Obituary
November 18, 1918 was a proud day for the late Edward and Nettie Kimble, a son was born in St. Landry Parish, Opelousas, LA. He moved to Houston around the age of 23 and was inducted into the Navy in 1943. After an honorable discharge from the Navy in 1946 he met and married his wife of 61 years Bernice Daniels. They were blessed with four daughters. He was employed by National Biscuit Co. as an operator for over 43 years. He loved baseball, fishing and helping people in need. He confessed Christ at St. John Missionary Baptist Church on Dowling Steet. He later joined South Union Missionary Baptist Church where he was an active member of the Men's Chorus, the Food Pantry Committe and the Brotherhood until his health declined. He was a dedicated member of the Willing Workers Masonic Lodge #317, a 33 Degree Mason, who served as Worshipful Master for many years until his health failed. He departed this life December 20, 2007 and leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife Bernice; daughters, Eleanor Kindle (Richard), Janice Gentry (Harold), Linda Watson (James), Vernita Streeter (Clarence-deceased); god daughter, Gwen Bossett, 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind three loving sisters, Jessie Washington, Rosetta Jackson and Thelma Hockett; special cousins, Lille and Frank Jackson and Oletha Thomas and a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
