Lena Katherine Suarez's Obituary
Lena Katherine Suarez, 90, of Manvel, Texas, passed away on March 2, 2017. She was born March 15, 1926 in Fayette, Alabama, to parents George L. and Amanda Wade. Following her primary education through eighth grade she went to work at the paper mill in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. In 1943 she met and married a young serviceman, Rafael Angel Suarez, of Bayamon, Puerto Rico, who was serving in the Army Air Corps, teaching electronic circuitry on bombers. Lena was a stay-at-home mom while her children were at home, then became employed as a cook working at Picadilly Cafeteria, then for South Houston Independent School District, until her retirement.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Amanda Wade, by her brothers George, John, Davis, and Thomas Wade, and her sisters Ruby Murray and Sarah Branyan. Her husband Rafael preceded her in death in 1998.
She leaves behind 20 descendents who love her dearly; sons Rafael Suarez and wife Cheryl, Tommy Suarez and wife Nola, and daughter in law Carol Long, 8 grandchildren and 14 great grand children.
