Mr. Leigh Alfred Blumer's Obituary
Leigh Alfred Blumer, 87, passed away September 6, 2018 due to a recent illness. He was born in Pearland, Texas on July 1, 1931 to Roman Clarence and Vera Marguerite Blumer, who preceded him in death. Also, preceded in death by daughter Diane Leigh Lampe, brother Lawrence Matthew Blumer, and sister Anna Mary Sykora. He is survived by daughter Cherry Lynn McDonald, son Leigh Allan Blumer and wife Esther, daughter Allison Leanne Wells and husband Jason. He is also survived 5 grandchildren; Tara Lynn Lampe, Chase Everette Lampe, Trina Lampe, Trisha LaBauve, and Kendall Leigh Wells. Survivors also include sisters Frieda Mae Shaddock, Florence Ruth Bergen, Marguerite Faye Williams, Phyllis Jean Honey, Doris Elaine Fontaine, and many nephews, nieces and great-grandchildren.
Leigh was a Lifelong resident of Pearland area. During his lifetime, he served his Country in the US Air Force during the Korean War, served his community as a volunteer police office for the City of Pearland and two terms as Brazoria County Drainage District No. 4 Commissioner. Leigh later returned to the Drainage District as an equipment operator and retired from the Drainage District in 1998.
