Lee Cowden's Obituary
Lee Cowden was born in Houston, Texas to Ruth and Lester Cowden (both deceased). He passed away on January 17, 2023 in Pearland, Texas.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
He is survived by his loving wife Martha Cowden.
Upon graduation from Spring Branch High School, he enrolled in the U.S Military Service ( U.S Navy) and was stationed in San Diego, Hawaii and Japan. After his discharge, he attended the University of Houston where he received his Associates degree. A few years later, his father passed away and Lee took over the restaurant business that his father had in Freeport, Texas. In 1976, after many years of running the business he moved back to Houston ; it is there he met the love of his life, Martha. They were married on September 25, 1976 and were married for 47 years. After that, he continued to work several short term jobs with Arthur Anderson Accounting Firm and at San Jacinto Community College where he taught for a short while. Later, at his pleasure, he started large canvas wall painting: one year he painted all the scenes for his church Christmas play.
