Hunt LaVerne Sherbert Hunt, born in Fargo, TX on May 12, 1914 to James Oscar and Mary Pearl Sherbert, passed away July 15, 2009 at the age of 95. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 58 1 1/2 years, Maxie Hunt; her sister and brothers-in-law, Ada Rudd Evitt, William Rudd, and Charles Evitt; brothers, and sister-in-law, Leonard and Pearl Sherbert, Joe and Myrta Sherbert, and Travis and Louise Sherbert. Survivors include son, Charlie D. Hunt of Pearland, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Camille and Milton Garner of Pearland, TX; grandson, Randy and wife Emily; great grandsons, Dawson and Brady Garner of Huntsville, TX; granddaughter, Phyllis Garner of Pearland, TX; great granddaughter, Tera Garner and partner Krystal Zavala of Kyle, TX; as well as extended family and a host of friends. LaVerne and family moved to Pearland, TX in 1949, joining the First United Methodist Church and becoming involved in the community following her retirement from Suniland Furniture Company she and her husband shared financial secretary duties for the church. LaVerne loved children and was very involved in the church's nursery program providing loving care for several generations. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of LaVerne S.
