He worked as a pipe fitter for 13 years, also taught at the apprentice school for 7 years and eventually got into the engineering field working at SIP Engineering.
He was well respected and a mentor to many in his work. He had numerous hobbies. He taught himself leatherwork, studied programming and electronics, model ship building, and woodworking which he gave away plenty of his creations. He was a big history buff. He loved to tell stories from World War 2. He also liked to tell people he was born the year of the steel penny.
He would ask people if they knew why they were made of steel then go on to explain it to them. Larry loved his family and loved watching the great grandkids run around the house. He was amazed at how quickly they grew and learned.
The family would like to thank the folks from Essential Hospice of Webster, TX for the care they provided during his final days. There will be a public visitation on Friday, May 9th 2025 at South Park Funeral home in Pearland, TX from 10:30 - 11:30 am.
