Mr. Larry Cross' Obituary
Larry Stephen Cross was born in Lufkin, Texas, November 5, 1949. He passed away Saturday June 25, 2016. Proceeding him in death are his wife Janel, his parents Wyatt
and Minnie Cross, brother Elmon, sisters Gloria Howell and Vivian Hock. He is survived by his sons John and Stephen Cross, brothers Glenn Cross and David Cross and sister Marinelle Atwell
and many nieces and nephews. Larry was the youngest of seven children. His brother Glenn scored his first high school touchdown the night Larry was born.
He enjoyed fishing, going to Sam Rayburn, carpentry, restoring boats, vehicles and pretty much anything he could do with his hands. Music was another passion of his. Not only was he a country music fan, but he had an ear for Rock n' roll, soul and blues. He worked hard and didn't mind his free time either. He was the life of the party and wanted people to enjoy themselves as much as he did. Through all these hobbies and things he enjoyed, His greatest joy was spending time with his two sons John and Stephen. He was passionate about his work, friends and family.
He was a heavy crane operator for over fourty years. Companies throughout the United States and as far away as Africa called on him whenever they needed a big job done and done right. Although his specialty was operating big time cranes, he wasn't limited to one thing. Larry could literally do anything. His calling card was of course, "Big Foot".
Larry loved a good story or joke. Through all the ups and downs of life He took each day as it came and could made something funny out of almost any situation. He was as much a legend as the nickname he carried
He will truly be missed but will live on through his sons and the lives he touched and the stories hes told.
