Kurian Kunjathenparambil's Obituary
Kurian Kunjathenparambil, fondly known as Baby, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished brother, admirable grandfather, and faithful child of God, peacefully went to be with the Lord.
He was born on July 27, 1949, in Kottayam, Kerala, to K.J. and Achamma Kurian. As the youngest son of seven children, he was surrounded by love from a very young age. His professional career began working as a mechanic for Travancore Rayons, where he served with dedication for three decades.
On May 1, 1972, he married Mariamma Kurian, and together they raised three sons: Biju, Binu, and Bibu. Together, Kurian and Mariamma built a Christ-centered home, instilling strong family ties and biblical values in their children.
In 2002, Kurian and Mariamma immigrated to the United States of America, determined to build a fruitful life and a lasting legacy. Their hope was for their children and their families to join them, and by the grace of God, all three sons relocated to Houston, Texas, allowing the family to live and grow alongside one another. Since childhood, Kurian regularly attended church and grew to learn what it meant to exemplify Christ in his life. He was baptized in the year 2010. He emphasized the importance of worship and faithfulness through daily family prayers, a practice that continues through his children and their families today. Throughout his life, he remained a committed and active member of various congregations, most recently serving as a member of True Light Christian Assembly for the last five years. Kurian is fondly remembered for his love of fishing, his passion for singing devotional songs, and his talent in the kitchen, where he cooked with his signature ingredients: ghee and cashews. He became a cherished presence on his children's social media platforms, where he shared his love for nature, gardening, and good food. Above all, Kurian was known for his unwavering devotion, sense of duty, and profound love for his family.
He is survived by his siblings John Kurian, George Kurian, Susie George, and Omana James. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Mariamma Kurian; his children and their wives, Biju and Christeena, Binu and Jincy, Bibu and Merlin; and his seven treasured grandchildren: Ashley, Eva, Sarah, Ephraim, Evin, Nathan, and Esther.
Kurian’s life was a vibrant testament to God’s goodness, favor, and humility. His legacy of faith and love will continue to live on through his family and all who were blessed to know him.
