It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Katherine Elizabeth De La Cerda on November 23, 2024, at the age of 67. Kathy was born on September 26, 1957 in Houston, Texas, to Walter Gilbert and Joyce Marie Streng.
Kathy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother with a beautiful soul who would help anyone. Her generosity knew no boundaries . She enjoyed dancing, listening to country music, reading romance novels, crocheting and traveling. Loved spending time with her family, friends and her beloved dog, Bella.
Although Kathy is gone, she will live in our hearts forever.
Kathy met the love of her life at a young, they got married in their 20’s, husband Anthony Wayne De La Cerda of 40 years. She is survived by her children: Liza De La Cerda, Zara De La Cerda, Mary Castillo, David De La Cerda; grandchildren Gaybriell and Ezekiel VanZant, Meagan and Marcus Zamarromn , Alister and Mariana Castillo, Alexis Cantu , Billie Jean Hoffman, Valencia and Vanessa Negrete, Lily Mondrangon, Mikaela Perez, Ruby Castillo, Frankie Diaz and Husband, Dalton R. Copeland I , Audrey De La Cerda, Amelia Scheidler; great-grandchildren Ezekiel ll, Anastasia Van Zant, Agustin, Ares sister Sheryl and husband Philip Roberts, brother Walter ( Bear ) Streng and wife Belinda, brother (Larry) Streng and wife Teri. She is also survived by several lovely nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Preceded in death by parents, Walter Gilbert and Joyce Marie Streng, grandparents, Wallace and Mable Barbier, Ben and Katherine Streng, Sylvester Streng, Walter Lukenhouse, child Rachel De La Cerda.
