Karen Ann Kinlaw's Obituary
Karen Ann Kinlaw, age 75, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2024 at home in the company of her family. She was born on October 11, 1948 in Beckley, West Virgina. Her and her husband Danny Kinlaw, married 55 years, have been residents of Manvel, Texas since 1978.
Karen leaves behind a legacy for her devoted faith in God, her generous giving heart and her deep love for her family and friends. She was a long-time member of New Hope Church and volunteered for many roles, her most cherished was teaching the children of the church.
Karen was a devoted member of her community; she served as a board member of the Manvel Economic Development Corporation for 19 years and watched her little city grow and prosper. She was also the secretary and treasurer for the Manvel Fire Department, a secondary job that she enjoyed very much.
Her passion for cooking and baking is well known by many, her famous banana pudding made an appearance at almost every event. She also had a great love for animals and volunteered or supported many local animal shelters.
Even with all her volunteering and full-time career, her most favorite role of all was being a Granny. She was every active in the lives of her grandchildren and they were truly her pride and joy.
Karen is preceded in death by her parents Frederick and Georgia Price of Pearland, Texas.
Karen is survived by her husband, Danny Kinlaw; sister, Phyllis DeFranks; son Michael Kinlaw; daughter Cheryl Oxsheer and her husband Phillip; three grandchildren Jessica, Devon, and Aaron; and sister in-law Barbara Kinlaw.
A visitation will be held August 1, 2024, 5pm at South Park Funeral Home in Pearland, TX. The funeral service will be held August 2, 2024, 10am at New Hope Church 288 Campus in Manvel, TX and be followed by the gravesite service at South Park Funeral Home in Pearland, TX.
