Mrs. Julia Ann Ratka's Obituary
Julia Ann Ratka, 84, of Houston, TX passed away Friday, October 30, 2015. Mrs. Ratka’s grandma, Mrs. Morrow, donated land for Garner State Park. In 1948 Julia played football on the first all-girls Milby High School football team, her jersey number was 12. She also was on the Milby Co-Ed’s. After graduating from high school she married Franciszek (Frank) Ratka in 1950. Mrs. Ratka retired from Sears in 1979.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Frank Ratka, brothers; Robert Allen Turner and Bill Gene Turner. She is survived by sisters, Zelda Delores Whitten and Linda Kaye Grimaldo; children; Frank and Donna, John and Gaye, Teresa and Bryan, Stephen and Debbie, and Tina and Hector; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends Tuesday November 3, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Southpark Funeral Home 1310 North Main St. Pearland, Texas 77581. Funeral service will be held Wednesday November 4, 2015 at 12:30 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Southpark Cemetery.
