She married her best friend, Walter Griffith, or as he was known to her as BABE, on August 15, 1958. Together they had 4 children. She was very active in all their activities and always shuttling them and their friends around. She was the biggest cheerleader for her kids. When the kids were older she went to work for Dr. Charles Maguire, DDS. She stayed there 20 years, until they both retired and shut the practice down. In 2006, Judy and Walter moved to Alvin, Texas where they lived until the summer of 2019 when they moved to Friendswood. Judy never met a stranger. No matter where she went, she would run into someone she knew. And would stop in the aisles to talk. She had the biggest heart. Judy was a wonderful cook. Sunday’s were usually spent around a huge garlic stuffed roast with rice and gravy and lots of family. If we could have just bottled the aroma!! She loved flowers and plants. A passion she inherited from her mom and passed on the same passion to her daughters. It didn’t matter where she went, if they had plants or flowers she would be snipping a few cuttings to start at home. She would say” it’s not stealing because it helps them grow fuller”. She used her talent of crocheting to make hats for MD Anderson and also for newborn nurseries. She made and donated over 10000 hats. She was an Angel collector as well. She just couldn’t resist one more angel. But her real passion began in 1979 when she was promoted to being a grandmother. And then in 2002 it got even better when she became a GREAT GRANDMA. She was known as MaMa until the grandkids shortened it to just MA. They always knew when the cousins came to town, that meant big sleepovers at Ma’s. Ma was always there for everything. Judy was a proud member of the choir at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Danbury, Texas. Don’t be sad that I am gone, instead, stop and smell some flowers and smile...and remember, it’s ok to take a few cuttings.
