Mr. Juan H. Davila's Obituary
Juan Heliodoro Davila, 88, gained his Heavenly wings on July 11, 2018. Juan was born on July 7, 1930 in Diriamba, Nicaragua to Juan F. and Juana M. Davila. He is survived by his adored and loving wife of fifty eight years Laura N. Davila, his adored children, Juan M. and Helen Davila, Mauricio and Coki Davila, Jorge and Magda Davila, Osmundo and Linda Davila, Mari Davila Ortiz and Erick Ortiz, Patry Davila Heredia and Antonio Heredia, Ricardo Cuadra, David and Claudia Davila, and Daniel Davila. His adored grandkids, Jorge F. Jr., Giovanna, Laura, Osmundo M. Jr., John, Emily, Erika, Gabby, Isaac, Chalito, Lulu, Danna, Ricky, Danny, Chris, DJ, DX, Valerie, Juan M. Jr., Jorge E., Tony, Mauricio, Martin, Marlon and Michael. Juan is also survived by thirteen great-grandkids. Juan is preceded in going to eternal life by his adored daughter Johanna Davila Cuadra, his parents Juan and Juana Davila, and his brother Guillermo Davila.
Juan was a pilot in his home country of Nicaragua. He served in the Nicaraguan Air Force and attained the Honorable degree of Colonel. Juan was a pioneer in the Nicaraguan aviation having attained the title of the first Nicaraguan pilot to introduce a Grunman aircraft for crop dusting. During the 70’s, Juan was the pilot with the most flight hours in Central America, as well as to being the first Nicaraguan pilot that landed a plane in the Ometepe island in Nicaragua. The Davilas are very proud that Juan is part of the Nicaraguan Aviation History and that his name and accomplishments are in the Nicaraguan Museum of Aviation.
Juan brought his family to the United States during the Nicaraguan revolution of 1979. Juan and his family settled in Houston, Texas and he was always proud to be a part of this great country. Juan was a devoted father, husband, grandpa, and great-grandpa. He had a joy for life and most of all for God. Juan was a servant of the Lord, and even in his most difficult moments, he remained a faithful Christian loving his Lord above all. Juan leaves a legacy to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of faith, compassion, generosity, love, hope, and family unity.
Bito, as his grandchildren lovingly called him, will be eternally loved and is in the Hands of Our Lord and Savior. Papito Bito you are the greatest dad and grandpa in the whole wide world. You were always there for us and we know that you will continue to be with us in soul and spirit. Our handsome and cute Bito, your grandchildren will always carry on your legacy. Papito, we will always love and adore you. You will continue to fill our lives with so much love, joy, and hope.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at SouthPark Funeral Home from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a rosary starting at 6:00pm. Mass will be held Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 11:00am at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church 11011 Hall Rd. Houston, TX 77089. Burial will follow at SouthPark Cemetery 1310 N. Main St. Pearland, TX 77581.
