Mrs. Joyce Stevens' Obituary
Joyce Stevens, 87, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016. Mrs. Stevens was a resident of the Southbelt area from 1955 until 2003. She owned and operated Jody’s Travel and Deer Park Travel. She was a proud member of The Southbelt Chamber of Commerce and Christian Temple Church. After retiring she and Al moved to Tyler, Texas to be close to their daughter. She found a new church home at Freedom Fellowship Assembly of God. Mrs. Stevens is preceded in death by her parents George Rackley and Beulah Hampton; son, Phillip Lynn Stevens; brother Kay Emory Rackley; sister, May Emily Trapp; half-brother, Walter Rackley; daughter-in-law, Beth Stevens and grandson, David Lee Majors. She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years Al Stevens Jr.; children, Debbie Majors and husband Steve and Rodney Stevens and wife Jacqui; 6 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. The family will receive friends Friday, March 4, 2016 from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at Southpark Funeral Home 1310 North Main ST. Pearland, Texas 77581. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel.
