Mr. Joseph V. Summers' Obituary
Joseph “Joe” Vernon Summers passed from this life into the
presence of our Lord and Savior November 10, 2016.
He was born to James and Marie Summers in
Pensacola FL. on April 16, 1943.
Joe was raised in Kingsville, Texas with his sisters.
Joe served 2 years in the Army, 18 months in Germany.
When he returned he worked in the insurance industry
and later as a welder/fitter. Joe collected stamps and coins.
He loved to debate, especially about religion/bible and politics.
He enjoyed a good joke, teasing, playing games,
and a little playful cheating.
Joe’s wife, family, and friends were important to him.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents,
sister Jennifer Summers,
son Jon, and his grandson Mitchell Whisenhunt.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years Marcia Ann;
his sister Judy Lile;
his daughter Martha Whisenhunt and her husband Shawn;
his son Cory Summers ;
his grandson Jerred Whisenhunt and his wife Jordan;
his grandsons Christopher and Cody Summers;
Mitchell’s wife Ashley Whisenhunt;
his great grandaughter Brynleigh Whisenhunt;
his nephew Ronald Frasier, wife Carrie and their children;
his niece Leslie Dunn; and brother-in-law Rick Whittingslow.
Joe will be greatly missed by all those that loved him !
There will be a memorial held for Joseph "Joe" Vernon Summers will be held November 19, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Freeway Manor Baptist Church, 2900 Rodney Street, Houston,
Texas 77034 713-944-0000. Prior to the memorial service,
a fellowship will be held at 12:30 at the same location.
