J. Joseph, affectionately known as Baby, peacefully went to be with our Lord and Savior at the age of 88 on November 11th, 2024. Baby was born on July 15th, 1936 in Thalavady (Alappuzha District), Kerala as the first child of late Mr. P. K. Joseph and late Mrs. Aleyamma Joseph of the Thalavady Kandathil family.

He married Annamma Mathew (Annie), who is a member of the Kaithakuzhy Vadakkumkara Kizhakkethil family in 1970 and they raised their family of two children. He had 2 brothers and 3 sisters: K. In 2013, Baby and Annie migrated to USA to be closer to their son and daughter. During this time in USA, he was able to watch and experience first-hand the growth of his grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was keen to give them advise and life lessons. He was proud of his grandchildren’s academic successes and enjoyed watching them perform musical instruments and play basketball and volleyball for their school and club teams.
Baby was hard-working and committed to successfully completing the tasks entrusted to him. He spent 43 years working as a bank officer, where he was known for his integrity and commitment to excellence and has always earned him respect among colleagues and friends alike. Despite his many responsibilities, he always found time for his family and his passions.
Baby was a man of God and he shared his faith through actions. He was a very humble and gentle man that left an impact on all around him. He was a member of the Thalavady-Nedumpuram parish of the St. Thomas Evangelical church of India (STECI) in Kerala and a member of the STECI Greater Houston parish in USA. He served as an auditor for STECI for several years. Baby’s hobbies and interests helped define who he was. He enjoyed spending time vegetable gardening, rice farming and fishing by cast nets and bamboo traps. He also loved listening to Christian music.
Baby will be deeply missed and remembered for his unwavering love, gentle spirit, and profound wisdom. May his memory be cherished and be an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
