Mr. Jose "Joe" Soria's Obituary
Jose G. "Joe" Soria, age 74 of Pearland, died Monday, March 5, 2012 in Houston. He was born May 21, 1937 in San Antonio, TX to Jesse Soria & Josefine (Gonzales) Soria. Joe married Frances (Gonzales) Soria on October 1st, 1981 in Pearland. Joe was the owner of Soria and Sons Acoustic and Texture Inc. for over 30 years. He was a member of St. Helen's Catholic Church of Pearland, Texas since 1970. Joe enjoyed traveling throughout the country with Frances to see his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends. Joe also loved to cook BBQ and have friends and family over to his house. He was very active in the Pearland Community serving on the Pearland Texans Football Club, the Dad's Club, and helped with several charity projects by volunteering his excellent building and remodeling skills throughout the Pearland area. He especially enjoyed having coffee with the "guys" in Pearland and was always seen with cashews nearby. He leaves his loving wife of 30 years - Frances Soria, 6 children, 2 step children and their families: Joe A. Soria, his wife Cynthia and their two children; Ernest Jasinski, his wife Toni, and their two children, David Jasinski, his wife Gina, and their daughter; Evon Markum, her husband Don, and their daughter; Chris Soria and wife Teresa; Michael Peter Soria, his wife Lee Ann and their six children; Raul Harahan, his wife Melissa "Missy " and their son; and Luis Harahan. 4 great grandchildren and his loving brothers, David Soria and Carlos Soria, and loving sisters Katy Cordoway, Helen Valdivia, and Delores "Lola" Soria also survive Joe. Joe also leaves many family and friends who were touched by his love and kindness. A visitation will be held Friday, March 9, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 pm with the Holy Rosary being recited at 7:00 pm at South Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1310 North Main Street, Pearland, TX 77581. A funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, March 10th, 2012 at 3 p.m. South Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. The pallbearers will be family and friends.
