Jon C Young's Obituary
On October 25th, 2020, Jon C. Young, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away at age 70. Jon was born on December 10, 1949.
After high school he was drafted into the Army and served in the Vietnam War. On February 16, 1975 he married Patricia Ann (Palermo) Young. They raised two children, daughter, Tina Marie Young, and son, David Michael Young.
Jon retired from The City of Houston Health Department after 38 years. Jon had a passion for volunteering his service to The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo on the Merchandise Committee.
He also belongs to the Knights of Columbus at St. Thomas Aquinas Church Council 7382 as a Third-Degree Knight for over 25 years. In addition, he volunteered for the Texans games, Astros games, Monster Jam, Fish Fry, and church breakfast.
Jon was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Warren, mother-in-law, Frances Palermo, Grandmother, Josephine (Momo) Calagna, and brother-in-law, Billy McMinn.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia, daughter, Tina, granddaughter, Megan, son, David, daughter-in-law, Sharon, granddaughters, Ella and Grace, sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Robert Cortemelia, brother-in-law and fiancé, Anthony Palermo and Kathi Armstrong, sister-in-law, Beverly McMinn; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
