John C Thomas' Obituary
John C. Thomas better known as Kunjumon was born on May 21, 1946 to the late Mr. Philip Thomas and Mariamma Thomas in Ranni Kerala. He was the fifth of six children and had four sisters (Late.Thankamma Mathai, Kunjamma Mathew, Pennamma George and Chinnamma John) and one brother(Late.Philip Thomas). He attended high school at MPM HSS Chungathura, Malappuram. After graduating from high school, he served on the Central Reserve Police Force in the signal group from 1969-1973. Kunjamon married the love of his life Chinnamma Lukose in 1973 and they both immigrated to the United States in 1974. They first resided in NY, NY and later moved to Houston, TX in 1979. Kunjumon worked as an Electronics Technician at the beginning of his career and later went on to receive an Associate's degree in Biomedical Electronics Technology. He worked at both UTMB in Galveston and ST. Lukes in the Texas Medical Center for a combined 20 years before retiring in 2010.
He was called to eternal rest on August 29, 2020 in the midst of prayers and is survived by his wife Chinnamma, son Jason, daughter-in-law Manju, grandson Isaiah, daughter Joyce, son-in-law Tamas and granddaughters Szilvia and Stella.
He was an active and one of the founding members of the Trinity Marthoma Church in Houston. He held many positions of leadership within the church. He taught Sunday school for over 25 years and was an avid supporter of the VBS and its activities. He enjoyed playing the tabla, singing, fishing, traveling, developing lifelong friendships and had a great sense of humor. He was also a strong believer in Jesus Christ and used his life to glorify the lord. He bought joy, laughter and companionship to everyone he met and will be missed by all.
