John Pembroke's Obituary
John Earl Pembroke, 66, of League City, Texas passed away on Sunday July, 27 2025. Born on March 2, 1959 in Pasadena, Texas to Earl and Elmodene Pembroke, he was the youngest of three children. He grew up in Pasadena and graduated from Sam Rayburn High School in 1977 before attending Sam Houston State University earning a degree in Photography/Radio Television and Film. His professional career focused on video and specifically TV production. His heart's desire was to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through media. John served in many places throughout his life.
He worked for Phil Arms Ministries, NASA, Second Baptist Church, JSAV Audio Visual, and currently Crosby Church.
John married his high school sweetheart Barbara Gammage in 1982. They were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Brittany and Bethany whom he adored. Adding the title of "Grandpa John" brought him such joy! He loved Carson, Lennon, Beckham and Wilder.
John was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Elmodene Pembroke. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Gammage Pembroke, and daughters Brittany Pembroke Burke, husband Ryan and Bethany Pembroke Butler, husband Caleb; grandchildren Lennon Burke, Wilder Burke, Carson Butler, and Beckham Butler. He is also survived by his brother Pat Pembroke, wife Doris and sister Felice Parnell, husband Robert as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Darrell Cordell and Monty Triggs were his closest lifelong friends.
