John was the youngest of my "big brothers". I remember well when I was about 6 years old Santa gave a 2 wheeler bike for Christmas. John took me out...it was terrible..I kept falling ...could not ride that bike. But he encouraged me...and I finally got the hang of it.
John and I talked often these past few years...nearly weekly. I have a sweet memory in that we had a nice conversation the Thursday before his heart attack. I am glad I did get to visit with John before he passed away.
He was a very good man and a great brother. I will miss him dearly.
John's "little sister" Madeline
I have a lot of fond memories of cousin Johnny from our childhood. Even though we grew up miles apart his Aunt Sarah would visit her sister Annie almost yearly.
One of his favorite stories he liked to tell about me was the time I almost took his eye out with a fishing hook. Hey I was a city slicker what did I know abut fishing.
I am gout to miss our chats and I as so glad we got to see you and Addie in September. love you always cuz.

I remember John telling me of how he made business phone calls, often to people he did not know. He would start out with a smile on his face and ask the person how their day was going. He said he knew that by smiling the other person would hear it in his voice.
John, how right you were. Your kind Christian spirit and smile came through.
