Mr. John Davis Anthony Jr.'s Obituary
John D. Anthony Jr, at 82 years of age, passed away on July 25th 2019 in Pearland, Texas. Mr. Anthony was born on July 30, 1936 in Miami, FL, to his now deceased parents, John and June Ida (nee Koehn) Anthony. He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon (Tessena) Anthony of Pearland, TX; his daughter and son-in-law, Michelle & Glen Jarvis of Lake Havasu City, AZ; his son, John Anthony; his three grandsons, Cody, Travis and Mark Anthony, along with the light of his life, his great-granddaughter, Rebecca Anthony, and the lady he loved as a second daughter, Kitty Anthony, all of Pearland, TX.
After a long debilitating illness, John passed away at home on Thursday evening, July 25th, in the company of his wife and daughter-in-law. Throughout all of his last days John maintained his tremendous sense of humor and kept a very positive attitude with everyone around him.
John was a very proud Marine and a great patriot who loved his family, his God and his country. He made his career in HVAC, starting out as a Union 211 service technician and worked his way from the ground up, serving as President of 2 large commercial service companies in Houston, TX. He tried retirement on for size and when he found it didn’t fit, went back to work in the salesforces of 2 different large commercial HVAC supply companies, finally retiring at the ripe old age of 73.
Even being a workaholic, he found time for his two greatest hobbies – hunting and fishing. As time went on nothing pleased him more than doing both with his 3 grandsons.
John was an extraordinary man with a tremendous lifeforce. He touched the lives and hearts of many, many people. He was a genuinely good, kind man with a generous and loving heart. John Anthony will be greatly missed by his loving family and a host of friends.
