Joe Frank Rabago Jr.'s Obituary
Joe Frank Rabago Jr. (Joey) passed away August 2, 2017 in Houston, Texas surrounded by his family. He was born on November 7, 1972 in Houston, TX and was a lifelong resident of Pearland, TX. Joe lived his life doing what he loved. As an educator, coach, assistant principal and as a father. He was a mentor to his students and athletes and could relate to them like no other. After all, he himself was just a big kid with a passion for sports. Although the past five years, were a struggle health wise, Joe continued watching every sporting event that he could catch on television and also would watch his children and nephews in their sports when possible. He was their biggest fan and encouraged them to be their best! However, his biggest joy in life without a doubt was his children. He loved them unconditionally and was very proud of the people they were becoming. Joe was a proud member of the Stephen F. Austin Alumni and just about any time you would see him, he would be sporting a SFA hat. Joe was a fighter and fought this horrible disease called diabetes for 37 years. Most people didn’t even know that he suffered with this disease because he always had a smile on his face and had always lived a very active lifestyle. Although his fight is now over, we are comforted that he is in Heaven with Jesus rejoicing.
Joe is survived by his parents Joe Frank Rabago Sr., Eustolia Rabago and step-mother Jinwen Rabago; Children: Emmah, Ellie and Joe III “Tre”; brother: Steve Rabago and wife Joann; Sisters: Brenda Rodriguez and husband Edward, Lisa Rabago, Stacy Rabago-Escalona and husband Manuel and Ling Rabago; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. The family will receive friends after 5:00 pm on Wednesday, August 9th at the chapel of South Park Funeral Home where a Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm followed by a Memorial Service at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers the family ask you make a donation to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation - Houston Gulf Coast, 2425 Fountain View, Suite 280 Houston, TX 77057.
