Joan Z. Mayeaux's Obituary
Joan Zeno Mayeaux, age 91, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026
at Lakehouse On Dixie Farm Rd. in Pearland Texas, after a long illness.
Joan was born on September 2, 1934 in Akron, Ohio to Sam and Lilly (Piazza) Zeno. She is preceded in death by her husband James Herbert Mayeaux, her Parents Sam & Lilly Zeno, her sisters: Fran Kojis & Jean Villalvazo, and her granddaughter Heather Caywood and son-in-law Joe Jordan.
Joan is survived by her 5 children: Jan Jordan, James Mayeaux, John Mayeaux
& wife Bonnie, Jerry Mayeaux, Jeanne Roesler & husband Arte.
Grandchildren: Mark & Angela Webster, Blane & Monica Mayeaux, Lindsey & Michael Stephens.
Great Grandchildren: Kenny & Michelle Brewster , Brandon Webster, Joseph & Christian Webster, Markus & Tajwer Webster, Brendan Mayeaux, Henrik Mayeaux, Jase Stephens, Everly Stephens, Maggie Marks, and Jameson Marks.
Great-Great grandchildren: Addy Webster and Elias Webster.
Brother: Jay & Sharon Hebert and many other family and friends.
After raising her 5 children, Joan went to work at Kroger in Pearland for 22 years
and retired Sept. 13, 1996. She worked at Hobby airport for several years as a TSO. (Transportation Security Officer), retired a second time to spend time with family.
Joan loved cooking and family gatherings with tons of laughter. She was very creative and loved doing crafts. Joan was also an artist. She was a loving wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister and Aunt, to know her was to love her.
Joan was a very caring person with a big heart and was kind to everyone.
Joan was a member of St. Helen’s Catholic Church in Pearland Texas.
She loved reading and studying her bible. Joan attended many bible studies with her friends. Joan liked helping with Christian Education classes and vacation bible school at St. Helen’s Catholic Church.
