Obituary for Jo Ann Hall
Jo Ann Boles Hall of Trinity, TX, passed away on February 2, 2026. She was born in Marshall, TX, to Guy Tucker Boles and Mary Leta (Morris) Boles on July 16, 1934. She worked at Roseboro & Burns Insurance Company, then at McClain’s Insurance in Marshall, and later at Lee Russell Insurance in Houston, before retiring in the 1970's to be a full-time homemaker for her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Louis C. Hall Jr., their son, David B. Hall, her parents, Guy and Mary, her brother, Roger W. Boles, and his wife, Dennis L. (Needham) Boles, and her stepdaughters, Susan E. Lavender and Julia A. Denny.
She is survived by their daughter, Teresa L. Hall-Ortega, and her husband, Enrique (Rick) Ortega; her sister, Dana L. (Boles) Davis; and her stepson, Samuel R. Lavender.
Also surviving are Sam’s son, Samuel E Wickey (April), their children, Alexis Wickey & Hunter Wickey; daughter Jacqueline M Lavender and her daughters, Taylor Ogle and Caliber Sturgeon, daughter Kaitlynn R Ortiz (Amaris) and her daughter, Henlee Miller; Roger and Dennis’ children, Kim A Melchor (Ray), Melynda K Webber, Paula M Baylot, Rachelle L Baker (Kevin), Dana’s children, Renee DeSalvo and Bill Davis Jr.; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Jo Ann was a serious genealogist and was formerly Secretary of the Trinity County Historical Commission, as well as Program Chairman and Vice President of the Trinity County Genealogy Society. She was a member of the DAR, Daughters of the Republic of Texas, and the Order of Eastern Star, Pearland Chapter #1065.
Socially, Jo Ann became part of any community she lived in and enjoyed participating in clubs and ladies' groups, including the Red Hat Club in Trinity. She enjoyed painting, sewing, crocheting, and quilting. She also enjoyed fishing and hunting and was even a better shot than Louis. She attended the Indy 500 several times and enjoyed watching it on TV every year.
Jo Ann loved her Lord and Savior and read the bible daily. She was a longtime member at 1st Baptist Church in Pearland. Along with her husband, she later joined Pioneer Church in Belpre, Ohio, transferred their membership to the Webster Presbyterian Church in Webster, Texas, and, lastly, attended services at the Chapel in the Pines in Westwood Shores, Trinity, Texas.
Funeral Service will be at South Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, Pearland, Texas, on February 13, 2026, with viewing at 1:00, services starting at 2:00 PM.
She will be remembered as a very loving Mother and wife, aunt, grandma, sister, and friend to many. She was always sweet, kind, and helpful to all.
