Jimmy Don White's Obituary
Jimmy Don White, age 63 of Richmond, Texas passed away on August 8, 2020 from COVID-19. He is survived by his wife of 20 years Brenda Farley and sons Chris White and Nike White and step-sons Austin Darsey and David Darsey all from Houston Texas and sisters Patricia Ruth of Amarillo Texas and Perri Nance of Burleson Texas. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Jimmy Rolland White and Shirley Joe Johnson and sister Lee Ella ‘Penny’ Draper.
Jim was born in Abilene Texas on October 2, 1956 and grew up in Amarillo Texas where he graduated from Amarillo High School in 1974. When he became 18, he joined the United States Navy where he served at Quantico Naval Hospital. He was honorably discharged to enter college. Jim graduated from Texas Tech University, Lubbock Texas in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and obtained his professional engineering license.
Jimmy was a man of faith, devoted husband and loving father. He was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church, Missouri City. In 2019 he celebrated his retirement from Chevron Phillips after a 40 year career in the petrochemical industry. Jim will be remembered as a man of integrity with a generous spirit and infectious laugh.
A family memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church, Missouri City on August 13, 2020. Burial will follow at SouthPark Cemetery, Pearland Texas at 2pm.
