Jimmie Kathryn Bacon's Obituary
Jimmie Kathryn Bacon departed this life on January 5, 2026 at her home in Pasadena, Texas. She was born in South Houston, TX on July 10, 1933 to James and Allie Jones. She was welcomed to her eternal home by her husband of 49 years, George Lenard Bacon, as well as many other family members and friends who preceded her in death.
She worked as a clerical aide for the Pasadena Independent School District for over 30 years. She was a follower of Christ, a member of First Baptist Church of South Houston, and attended church every Sunday. She acquired an impressive collection of pigs (a reference to her last name), as well as souvenirs from her trips across the country. She hosted every family birthday and holiday celebration in her home, and she wore a themed shirt (or vest) and matching jewelry on every holiday. She made many friends in her 92 years of life, and she couldn’t go anywhere without seeing someone she knew. She was strong-willed and remained active and independent until the very end.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Wolfe-Hanson; her two grandchildren, Jessica Whyde (and her husband, Jonathan) and Connor Hanson (and his wife, Meybelin); her three great-grandchildren, Lenna Whyde, Henry Whyde, and Adriel Hanson; and many nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and nephews. The family of Jimmie would like to acknowledge and thank her neighbors, Rick and Maria, Mark and Sandra, and Mary, all of whom helped and supported Jimmie, especially as her life came to a close. Additionally, a very special “thank you” goes out to Jimmie’s hospice nurse, Irene, whose care and compassion brought Jimmie and her family comfort during her final days.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
