Jian Zhu's Obituary
Jian Zhu, 65 years old of Pearland, Texas passed away on July 1, 2021 at MD Anderson Cancer Hospital after his valiant battle against one of the rarest forms of cancer.
He immigrated to the United States after his stint as a music teacher at Nanjing. In hopes to further his education, he enrolled at Boise State University in Boise, Idaho in which he received his master's degree in Music Education.
Another chapter of his life unfolded as he turned to medical field. He earned a degree in nursing and worked as a RN in a Palliative Unit of MD Anderson Cancer Hospital at the Medical Center in Houston, Tx. It's here where Jian meets his future wife, Maria Patricia Tan-Guzman.
He is survived by his wife Maria Patricia Tan Guzman, mother Li Zhiwei, sister Zhu Hui and husband Weivi, nephew Wei dan and wife She Weiwei, grandniece Weishuyo, daughter Lisa Sanders and husband Jared Sanders, grandchildren Roman Sanders and Reagan Sanders, uncles Li Zhiyu, Li Zhijun, Zhang Dehua, aunts Yuan Minqin, Gu Minhua, and Zhang Lingling, cousins Li Ang, Li Chen, Li Pian, and best friends Konglingyi, Qiujingyang, and Wuchunrong.
