Mrs. Jewell Cain's Obituary
Jewell Durdin Cain, 88, passed from this world September 12, 2012, to the beautiful place called Heaven. She was born August 27, 1924 in Houston. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Thomas David, parents Burl and Christine Durdin, brothers R. L. and Raymond Durdin. Jewell worked 26 years as a school secretary at Easthaven Baptist Church School. She was a member of EBC for 59 years. She and Tommie loved to travel the United States camping, cruising and sightseeing. She is survived by her son, Jerry and wife Frances; daughter Barbara and husband Curtis. Seven grandchildren: Tracy Klander and husband Carl; Kathy Powell; Jerry Alan Cain and wife Roberta; David Collins and wife Chirsti; Sally Dunn and husband Trey; Laurie Blain and husband Kevin; Chad Collins and wife Sarah, plus 16 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers are: Jerry Alan Cain, David Collins, Chad Collins, Carl Klander, Kevin Blain, and dear friend Harry Villarreal. Services will be held at the South Park Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Kevin Rizer and Rev. Ron Burton. Family and friends will dearly miss her presence in our lives. But when God called her home she was ready. A special "thank you" to Dr. Michael Wang of M.D. Anderson and the wonderful 6th floor clinic staff for the loving care she was given. And all the nurses at Houston Hospice, we thank you.
