Mr. Jesus Jimenez's Obituary
Jesus Jimenez Rios, 43, slipped gently into the arms of Jesus Christ Friday, February 6, 2009. Jesus was a graduate of Alvin High School and Alvin Community College where he enjoyed playing on the Alvin football team. He was Co-Pastor of The Holy One Church as well as ministering on the streets. Among his many community activities, he was Teasurer of the Brazoria County Republican National Hispanic Assembly and the Founder of Hispanics United for Education at Alvin Community College and, later, the University of Houst at Clear Lake. He served on several Boards of the City of Alvin. He found joy in playing raquetball, traveling and follwing the New York Stock Exchange. He was preceded in death by his father, Jesus Jimenez and brother, David Jimenez. Survivors include his mother, Maria S. Jimenez; sisters, Elizabeth Jimenez-Garces and her husband,k James, Diana Jimenez-Piper and her husband, Gerald, Esther Damlarkaya and her husband, Razi and Marisol Jimenez; brother, Josue Jimemez; nephews, Mert Hadi Damlarkaya and Kaan Sercan Damlarkaya. He also leaves to cherish his memory numerous other relatives and a host of friends. He was truly loved and will be missed by all who knew him. The family will receive visitors starting at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, February 12, 2009, with an evening service to begin at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of SouthPark Funeral Home. A service celebrating Jesus' life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 13, 2009 in the chapel of SouthPark Funeral Home. Interment will follow at SouthPark Cemetery.
