Jesse James Martinez (Papi) was born August 27, 1947 to Lucinda Florez Martinez and Juan Martinez in South Houston, Texas. He peacefully passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021 at 4:20 am in Pasadena, Texas while surrounded by his wife, his two daughters, his son-in-law, and his granddaughters.
Preceded in death by father Juan Martinez, mother Lucinda Martinez, sisters Mary Mendoza and Susie Mendoza.
Survived by wife of 55 years Angelina Martinez, daughters Cynthia Martinez spouse Rene Martinez, and Anjanette Gonzales. Grandchildren: Jessica Gutierrez spouse Carlos Gutierrez, and Danielle Martinez. Great grandchildren: Daniel, Desiree, Dominic, Demi, and Deanna Gutierrez. Siblings: Rosa Vasquez, Beatriz Lara, Lydia Flores, Frances Razo, Henry Martinez, Benny Martinez, Margaret Stephens, Albert Martinez, Bobby Mendiola, Andrew Martinez, Cathy Castillo, and Tony Martinez.
Jesse was well known for being a hard worker, a musician, and a loving husband, father, and grandfather, leaving beautiful memories behind with those he cared for. Jesse spent more than 20 years as a welder and his gift of craftsmanship always led to perfected work. Music was his passion, family was his heart, and work was his drive.
