Mr. Jerry Allen McDonald's Obituary
Jerry Allen McDonald was born on October 2, 1945 in Laurel, MS. to Clara Lee Carr and James Allen Boler. In 1949, Clara married Joe McDonald who lawfully adopted Jerry and his sister, Janie. He graduated from R.H. Watkins High School in 1964 lettering in football and went onto be a star baseball player in the Jones County Independent Baseball League. Jerry married his school sweetheart, Judy Sharion Stone on June 9, 1967. He honorably served in the US Army from 1969-1971 after which he continued a career as a grocery manager. Jerry and Judy followed her family to Houston in 1974 where he worked for Safeway Grocery until he became disabled in 1985. He enjoyed spending time with his sons and grandchildren. He was a mild-mannered loving person who became known to his neighbors as "Gentlemen Jerry". Jerry passed from this life at the age of 66 on January 16th, 2012 at 6am due to lung disease. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy and Sister, Janie Carol Carlson. Though widowed in 1990, Judy continued to be the love of his life. He remained committed and faithful and longed to be reunited with her unto his death. Jerry is survived by Sons, Chris with wife Dawn, and Timothy with wife Shelley; Grandchildren Chelsea McDonald, Alayna McDonald, Luke McDonald, & Hayden McDonald; Brother, Jeff McDonald of Laurel, MS. with wife Cindy; and Sister, Susie Parker of Laurel, MS; Sister-in-Laws Lydia Riley and Linda Craft with husband Mike; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and family members.
