and was honorably discharged as a Second Lieutenant in 1961.
While living and working in Charleston, West Virginia, Jerry met the love of his life, Sharon, at Union Carbide. Their journey together began with marriage in Stockton, California, in 1964 and blossomed into a lifetime of love, adventure, and unwavering partnership.
Jerry had a passion for life and embraced every opportunity to explore it. An avid pilot, he earned his private pilot's license in 1987 and took great pride in flying his cherished Cessna 152. Together, Jerry and Sharon traveled extensively, including a memorable trip around the world and countless cruises. He enjoyed camping, golfing—where he proudly achieved two hole-in-ones—and trying his luck at blackjack. He also appreciated simple pleasures, including sharing stories over an evening martini with family and friends.
A man of service and faith, Jerry volunteered with the Houston Food Bank and was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Pearland. Through Bible study and fellowship, he deepened his faith and found great joy in serving others and growing spiritually.
Whether known as Jerry, Dad, Papa, or by one of his many other beloved titles, he will be remembered for his loving heart, steadfast protection, quick wit, joyful spirit and positive outlook on life. Every day was a great day according to him. He was a teller of jokes, a playful dancer, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His kindness, strength, and sense of humor touched the lives of all who knew him.
Though he will be deeply missed, Jerry's legacy of love, faith, laughter, and family will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him. He was loved beyond measure and will be remembered forever
