Mrs. Janis Lynn Watson's Obituary
Mrs. Janis Lynn McMahon Watson, 68, joined her husband, Eric, in the afterlife on Saturday, February 1, 2020. From a very young age, Janis nourished the people around her with love, joy, and laughter. She turned the mundane into a celebration and was the life of every party.
She was born in Houston, Texas on February 6, 1951 to Barney and Evelyn McMahon. Janis graduated from Jesse H. Jones High School in 1969. After marrying Eric Watson on August 10, 1973, Janis devoted herself to her family and was known and will be remembered by her ability to bring people together. She truly lived life to the fullest and loved fishing, going to the beach, crafts, and spending time with the many people who adored her. Her loss will be felt deeply and by all who had the privilege to know and love her.
Janis was preceded in death by her husband Eric Watson whom she spent 44 years of marriage, her father Barney McMahon, and her mother Evelyn McMahon. Left to honor Janis and remember her love are Janis’ children, Katherine (Kathy) and Joshua (Josh), Josh’s wife, Jaime, and their two children, Janis’ beloved grandchildren, Elijah and Aria; her sister Carol; mother-in-law, Betty; sister-in-law Annita; brother-in-law Carl and wife Helen; nephews, Collin, Evan, Bryan and wife Sandra (Sandy); nieces, Lisa and husband Calvin, Shayna and husband Kyle; great-nieces and great-nephews, Ian, Tyler, Chase, Cameron, Rylee, and Harper. Janis will be remembered as a bright, shining light in the lives of everyone she touched.
The family will receive friends Sunday, February 9, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at South Park Funeral Home, 1310 N. Main Street, Pearland, TX 77581. Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Monday, February 10, 2020 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in South Park Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Bryan Suarez, Collin Watson, Evan Watson, Cameron Nichol, Chase Nichol (Honorary Pallbearer), Ian Suarez, and Tyler Suarez. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Janis’ name to Sargent Area Lion’s Club at P.O. Box 4242, Sargent, TX 77404.
