Mrs. Janice Moore's Obituary
Janice Moore, 88, of Canyon Lake, passed away Monday, October 8th, 2018.
She was born to James Harold and Mary Kathryn Edwards in Tahoka, Texas on March 26th, 1930. She married the love of her life, the late Earl D. Moore on December 3rd, 1948. They remained happily married until Earl's death in 2008.
Janice was a dedicated and loving mother to her two sons, Steve and Will, grandmother to Megan, and great-grandmother to Kate Ella and Eliza Jane. As a mother, she lived by and instilled the virtues of love, compassion, patience, and integrity. She was selfless and tireless in her efforts to make her house a warm, safe, and happy home. Her smile and laugh could fill up a room.
Janice was a mighty woman of God and a cherished friend to so many. Active and always on the go, she lived until she died. She devoted her life to serving and loving God and others, spending much time in prayer and ministry. Her church families at Tree of Life, and more recently at Genesis Ministries, were dear to her and occupied precious space in her heart and prayers. She volunteered for Reach to Recovery for many years, counseling and supporting breast cancer survivors, as she was one herself. As a bright light, she served as her local ALGOW chapter’s president, doing ministry and life alongside other women with hearts like hers. Her greatest achievement is her legacy. She was more than just another Christian woman doing life. She taught others how to truly live in the light of God’s love and peace. She taught women how to cook, sew, dance, pray, and be joyful.
She was loved beyond words by her husband, children, granddaughter, and great-granddaughters. And she will be missed deeply by all.Her kindness permeated the lives of everyone she met. She was an inspiration.
Jan was survived by her loving sons, Steve Moore (and his wife Rose Moore) and Will Moore; her adoring granddaughter Megan Bodin, and her husband Billy Bodin; and her biggest fans, her great-granddaughters Kate Ella Bodin and Eliza Jane Bodin.
