Jan was my best friend at St. Francis, in Victoria, Ks. We both were transfer students. We were in the same class for but a year or two and never saw each other again, but I never forgot him or that he came from Houston. Had I settled in America, I might have tried to locate him. I’ll never forget his smile or the great head of hair. Finding this obituary four years after his death is bittersweet, but the memorial video gave me a good idea of what a fine gentleman he grew to be. Requiescat In Pace, Amicus mei!🙏😢
What a great guy jan was. I had only known him for about a year, but we became pretty good friends. He had a wealth of knowledge about so many things. I will always cherish the baseball stadium book that he gave me He took me on a few historical tours of Houston, including some incredible restaurants for lunch. wow did he enjoy his lunches.there was never a time when he did not have a good answer for one of my questions. he was my mentor.
