Mrs. Jamie Jean Hoffmann's Obituary
Jamie Harper Hoffmann, 68, of Manvel passed away on May 20, 2012. Jamie was always busy with family and friends. Any given afternoon she could be found having lunch with friends, playing games, or shopping. A favorite past time was reading; we believe there is not a book in the Manvel Public Library she had not read. Jamie was always ready for a road trip, enjoying camping and exploring new places. There was rarely a school event for her granddaughters that Jamie did not attend. Truly a family person. Following graduation from University of Texas in 1964, Jamie began her career with the HEB Grocery Company in Corpus Christi as a secretary to Mr. Dan Butt. Following a move to the Houston area and raising her family, Jamie reentered the workforce in the banking industry and worked at Alvin Community Bank and Citizens National Bank in Bellaire. Jamie is preceded in death by her parents, James and Glenda Harper. Jamie is survived by her husband, Laurence (Larry) Hoffmann of Manvel; and children: daughter Laurel Joseph, husband James, and granddaughter, Shelby Joseph; and son, John Hoffmann and granddaughters, Mary and Sarah Hoffmann, all of Alvin; and her aunt, Bonnie Harper Clary of Las Vegas, Nevada. To honor Jamie, in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Manvel Public Library 20514 B Hwy 6, Manvel, TX 77578 or to the American Heart Association. Visitation was held on Thursday, May 24, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 pm at South Park Funeral Home. Funeral services were held on Friday, May 25, 2012 at 3 p.m. at South Park Funeral Home. Arrangements under the direction of South Park Funeral Home.
