James "Ronnie" Willis' Obituary
James Ronald Willis, age 75, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017. Born November 25, 1941, in Pasadena, TX, he was the son of James T. and Wilma Willis. After growing up and graduating from high school in Pasadena, Ronnie served in the US Air Force from 1962 to 1966. With his military service completed, he then went to work as a Coater Operator Supervisor for Champion Paper Mill, located in Pasadena. Being of the Baptist faith, Ronnie loved to serve his Lord by attending church every time the doors were open. As an avid outdoors man, he enjoyed all of God’s nature, especially fishing. However, more than anything, Ronnie loved spending time and telling life stories with his family and friends.
Mr. Willis is survived by the mother of his children, Cheryl Curtis, of Houston, TX; his daughters: Staci Havard (husband, James) of Huntington, TX; Julie Mathewson (husband, Mike) of League City, TX and Pamela Wade (husband,Blue) of Pasadena, TX; sisters, Sondra Wolfe (husband, Pete) of Liberty, TX and Yvonne Turnley (husband, James) of Kenefick, TX. He will also be missed by his grandchildren: Brandon, Colton, Dylan, Sarah, Lauren, Brett, Blu Jr and Michelle, as well as seven great-grandchildren and numerous other friends and loved ones. Those serving as pallbearers are: Brandon Morton, Colton Havard, Dylan Havard, Brett Mathewson, Randy Dedman and Paul Wolfe.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 24 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, with a funeral service taking placed on Saturday, March 25 at 1:30pm, all to be held at SouthPark Funeral Home in Pearland. Interment will follow at SouthPark Cemetery.
