James C Peel's Obituary
James Craig Peel, 62, passed away Thursday, November 25th, surrounded by family who loved him deeply. Born on January 16, 1963, in San Antonio, Texas, Craig spent most of his life in Pearland, where he built a life rooted in family, friendship, and the simple joys he cherished.
Craig was a loving father, son, brother, and friend. He is survived by his daughter Cassie Yarbrough and her spouse Mike, his mother Sue Peel, his sister Peggy Peel, and his beloved grandchildren Carter Peel, Chloe, Liam, and Brayden Yarbrough. He also leaves behind his niece Kelli Stagner and her husband Steve, and children Olivia Sarmiento and B.J. Sarmiento.
He was preceded in death by his father James “Jim” Peel and his father-in-law Bobby Dewees. He is also preceded in death by his grandparents Roland and Ethel Meyers and J. Carr and Margery Peel.
Craig was known for his loving, fun-spirited personality. He had a gift for making others feel welcome and cared for, and he approached life with humor, kindness, and a big heart. His hobbies reflected who he was—he loved hunting, playing golf, and listening to country music. Most of all, Craig adored his daughter and treasured every moment spent with her.
Throughout his career, Craig worked at Enron and later at PPL Motorhomes, where he built lasting friendships and earned the respect of those he worked with. His life was also enriched by the special bonds he shared with Stephen McFarland, Travis McFarland, and Joshua Broom, who meant so much to him.
Craig will be remembered for his warmth, loyalty, and the love he gave so freely. His spirit lives on in the family and friends who adored him and in the countless memories shared by all who knew him.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 2nd, from 5:00–7:00 PM at SouthPark Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow on Wednesday, December 3rd at 11:00 AM, also at SouthPark. After the service, family and friends are invited to gather for lunch at The Original Gringo’s to continue celebrating Craig’s life.
In honor of Craig’s love for the outdoors, guests are welcome to wear casual or camo attire if they would like.
