Mr. James Joseph Palmire's Obituary
James Joseph "Jim" Palmire born June 17,1940 in Galveston, Texas passed away peacefully Thursday April 26,2018. Jim was preceded in death by his father Sam Palmire and his mother Mavis Conway.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years Jeanette Palmire, son Tony Palmire and wife Christelle, daughter Margaret Hamilton and husband Randy, daughter Leannah Palmire, stepdaughter Angie Jacobs and husband Lance. Seven grandchildren Amber Antley, Jason Helms, Anthony Palmire and wife Stephanie, Dillon Palmire, Madison,Ethan and Caleb Jacobs. Seven great-grandchildren Micah, Aubrie and Jacob Palmire, Cole,Shelby and Kelsie Antley and Tessa Helms. After attending Milby High School Jim was in the U.S. Navy. Jim retired after 33 years in Law Enforcement where he worked at Harris County Sheriffs Dept., Friendswood Police Dept. and TDCJ Internal Affairs. Jim was a Lifetime Director of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. He was also a Life Member of the 100 Club of Houston, a Charter Patron of the Texas Rangers Association Foundation. He was a Life Member of the Houston Farm and Ranch, a member of Park Place Masonic Lodge #1172 and a member of the Scottish Rite. Pallbearers will be James Lockhart, Roy Vernon, Gary Deitcher, Jerome Mulanax, Tony Palmire, Jason Helms. Visitation will be Saturday May 5, 2018 from 1-2pm followed by funeral services at 2pm at South Park Funeral Home in Pearland, Texas. In lieu of flowers contributions in his name would be appreciated for Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Scholarship fund, ASPCA and American Cancer Society.
