James Gregory Meade's Obituary
James Gregory Massey Meade, 61, of Pearland, Texas, met his Heavenly Father on March 16, 2025. He was born March 15, 1963, to Claude Vincent Meade, Jr., and Myrtlee Massey Meade. He was the Grandson of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Massey, Sr., of Pearland, Texas.
Greg attended Pearland High School and graduated in 1981. He received numerous certifications during his career in criminal justice fields. Greg was the Chief of Police in Brookside Village, as well as multiple other law enforcement positions throughout his career. Greg’s small-business ventures included providing security for oil equipment companies, as well as transporting equipment to drilling sites. Most recently, Greg was employed by an oilfield equipment company as a sales representative.
Greg is preceded in death by his Grandparents, Parents, Brother Claude “Bootsie” Meade and great Nephew Jesse Dale Habada.
He is survived by his former wife, Leticia Meade, sisters Judith Meade of Bandera and Janel Meade of Pearland; nieces and nephews, Jodi Coate, Dawn R. Meade, and Julie Meade of Pearland, Candice Rebecca Meade of Houston; Calvin Meade of Alvin; great nephews Justin Dietrich of Alvin, and Jake Habada of Houston; and a host of family and friends.
All who knew Greg will miss his big heart, his kindness, his generosity, and his larger than life personality. He was “Uncle Greg” to so many. He will be greatly missed.
A celebration of Greg’s life will be held Saturday, March 22, 2025, at South Park Funeral Home. The Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and will be followed by a Graveside Service at Noon near the Massey Family Monument in South Park Cemetery. The Funeral Home and Cemetery are located at 1310 No. Main St., Pearland, Texas.
