Mr. James Lewis Lisano's Obituary
James Lewis Lisano entered the loving arms of our Lord on September 24, 2020 at the age of 79 years old. James, “Jim”, was born in Houston, Texas on July 18, 1941 to John William Lisano II and Frances Bernadine Tipton Lisano.
Jim dedicated his life to his family, friends, and students. He taught for 40 years in Galena Park ISD where he was an art teacher, (in his early years), an 8th grade U.S. History teacher, and 12th grade summer school teacher for U.S. Government. His greatest achievement in life was spending 38 years with the love of his life, spoiling his grandchildren, and influencing the minds of middle-aged to young adults within his classroom. Jim was also a dedicated member of the San Jacinto Beagle Club, Houston Kennel Club, and active participant in the Reliant World Series of Dog Shows, until he fell ill. He enjoyed traveling and taking his children and grandchildren to dog shows all around the country. This quickly became a weekend family past-time that grew into a life-time of special friendships!
Jim is preceded in death by his loving wife, Ruby Rosalie Lisano, parents, John William Lisano II and Frances Bernandine Tipton Lisano, brothers John William Lisano III and Michael Edward Lisano. Grandparents, John William Lisano and Minnie E. Peakall, and Omar Gray Tipton and Callie Celia Moles Tipton. He is survived by his sister Gloria Faye Lisano Craib, (husband Ken Craib), daughters Cathy Lisano Breckenridge and Christy Lisano Stewart, (son- in- law John O. Stewart), and son Thomas Eugene Lisano, (daughter-in-law, Jennifer Lisano). His grandchildren: John Christopher Lisano, (wife Kharla Lisano), Hunter Lisano Tousha, (husband Dusty Tousha), Trevor Allen Breckenridge, Emily Lauren Stewart, Logan James Stewart, Shelby Rose Lisano, and Courtney Lyn Lisano. He is also survived by his great grandchildren: Lily Adilynn Lisano and Dally Elizabeth Tousha.
He will always be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather; as well as, an influential educator who impacted thousands of students within his 40 years of teaching.
