James Beau Levis' Obituary
I struggle to find appropriate words to describe my best friend, Beau Levis. Beau was a fearless, determined, resourceful, legendary spirit. The kind of friend you only meet once in this journey we call life… That is, if you're lucky enough to cross paths with such a “Beautiful, Excentric, Artistic and Unique” soul. One of Beau’s self-reported strengths was an appreciation of beauty. He would frequently remind me that above all this was his principal attribute- one that made him stand out and shine more than any other person I have ever met in this world. I fell in love with his ability to make the best out of any moment, and his need to make sure everyone felt included.
Beau was born November 16, 1989 to Dale and Sherry Levis. His big family adored him from the start. He often spoke of his grandmother Pip, who warmly taught him to draw Disney characters, and of his Aunt Lynda who played guitar with him and introduced him to music at an early age. His older sister Misty, who was always supportive and offered guidance during hardship. His father, Dale’s, best fishing buddy.
Beau loved music, playing guitar, nature, skating, animals, socializing, giving kindness, and spending time with his friends and family. He embodied the true essence of altruism and benevolence. He could make any situation manageable with his ability to finesse and mitigate even the worst of scenarios. His ability to navigate the world from multiple perspectives kept the darkness at bay.
Beau believed in the possibility of the impossible- he didn’t allow fear to prevent him from reaching for the stars. He was always optimistic, and in a world filled with “No’s”, his answer was most always “Yes”.
Beau transitioned into unity with the heavens on 11/19/2024 @ 3:46pm at Houston Methodist Hospital Downtown with his family by his side. He fought a long and prolific battle with liver failure, which began on June 6th, 2022. For more than two years, Beau fought to survive with strength, tenacity, and a love of life that could outshine any fears. Beau left his earthly body just three short days after his 35th birthday.
