Mr. James McKay Latta's Obituary
James McKay Latta was called home to Our Lord Jesus on September 19, 2011. Born May 17,1931 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to James G. Latta and Lee Ann McKay-Latta. An avid athlete he enjoyed great success as the half-back, punter and sprinter for Pasadena High School, graduating in 1949. He served proudly for our country as a Sergeant in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He graduated from Southwest Texas State in Business/Accounting and a Graduate Degree from University of Texas. As an accounting executive for Chevron and ARAMCO he took his family to numerous states and throughout Europe with his career. He is preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Marguerite Clair Matocha. He is survived by his wife Billie Ava Latta, sister Jane A. Townsley, daughter Belinda K. Abell, sons J. Brian Latta, Blake Emmett and Mark Emmett, Grandsons Chris Abell, Jake Emmett and Luke Emmett. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 23rd at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of SouthPark Funeral Home. A private inurnment will be held at a later date. He will be remembered as a leader among men and loving husband and father, whose guidance was a testament to his integrity and ethics. After 23 years of marriage his wife Billie says "He treated me like a queen, every day and in every way. We have lost a truly great man."
