James Latham's Obituary
James (Jim, Jimmy) Edward Latham, 68, of Spicewood, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on May 26, 2026 in Spicewood, Texas
James was born on February 11, 1958, to Glen & Clariece Latham in Houston, Texas. He grew up in Deer Park and the surrounding Houston area.
James accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior in 1979 while in college. He graduated from Baylor University and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Religion. After college, he began attending Christian Temple, where he met the love of his life, Debra. The couple married in 1985 and were blessed with two sons: Jeffrey, born in 1988, and Gregory, born in 1991.
James worked alongside his father, Glen Latham, in the family business, Flanges Inc. He continued leading the company after his father’s retirement and passing, successfully operating it for many years until selling the business in 2011.
An avid sports enthusiast, James especially loved golf, baseball, and football. He took great joy in introducing his sons to these sports and sharing many memorable moments with them on the field and on the course.
He was a true man of faith, had a passion for studying God’s Word, and never missed an opportunity to witness and tell people about God’s love. His fun-loving personality would always draw you in with his beautiful smile and he would have you laughing in no time.
He cherished time spent at the family ranch in the Texas Hill Country with his wife and sons. James and Debra retired there in 2021, where he spent the final days of his life surrounded by the place and people he loved most.
He often felt like he didn’t have a purpose of his own and was instead supposed to help others find their purpose. Turns out, this was one of the many things that made him a great father and husband, and God will continue to work through the lives of those he supported and invested in.
James is survived by his wife, Debra Latham, son, Jeffrey Latham of Austin, and son, Gregory Latham of Emory, Texas.
James is preceded in death by his father Glen Latham and his mother Clariece Latham.
