James Hendrickson June 11, 1942 – November 4, 2025 Age 83 | Pearland, Texas
James Hendrickson, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, veteran, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Pearland, Texas, on November 4, 2025, at the age of 83, due to natural causes.
Born on June 11, 1942, in Pensacola, Florida, James was the son of Bernard Edward Hendrickson and Mary Frances Elliott. He graduated from Pensacola High School in 1960 and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1962 to 1966, including active duty during the Vietnam War.
In 1965, James married the love of his life, Sandra Buie. Together, they built a life grounded in love, faith, and family. James had a long and accomplished career as a petrochemical electrical designer, real estate agent, and business owner. He was a true entrepreneur and innovator, always seeking new ways to build and create.
James was a man of many talents and passions. He served as a scout leader, practiced carpentry and welding, kept bees, and even dabbled as a part-time comedian. His sense of humor, creativity, and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone he met. A faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, James lived his life with integrity, compassion, and a deep commitment to service.
He was predeceased by his father (1941), mother (2005), stepfather (2005), sister (2012), and brother (2015).
James is survived by his loving sister Barbara Ray; his children Charlie Hendrickson, Stephanie Androsko, Scott Hendrickson, and Courtney Hendrickson; his grandchildren Zarian Hendrickson-Perez, Cole Hendrickson, Amber Hendrickson, and Aryn Hendrickson; and his extended family including sons- and daughters-in-law Brad Androsko, Sonya Hendrickson, GG Nord, David Henderson, and granddaughter-in-law Pricilla Hendrickson-Perez.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Southpark Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 12:00pm at the LDS Chapel, 9529 Magnolia Parkway, Pearland, TX 77584, followed by 2:00 pm burial at Southpark Cemetery. A reception will be held at the LDS Chapel following the burial.
Pallbearers: Charlie Hendrickson, Scott Hendrickson, Zarian Hendrickson-Perez, Cole Hendrickson, Michael Heald, and Paul Atkins.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society in James’s memory.
James Hendrickson will be remembered for his unwavering love, his inventive spirit, and the joy he brought to all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the family he cherished.
