Mr. James E. Bell's Obituary
James E. Bell, age 61 and a longtime resident of Pearland, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, June 22nd, 2013. He is preceded in death by his father J.D. Jones. James leaves behind his wife Kay Bouland Bell, (2) daughters, Nicole Bell of Austin, TX & Amber Harris (Timothy) of Sikeston, MO., (3) grandchildren Avery and Zoie of Austin, TX and Ethan of Sikeston, MO, his mother Lue Tissue Jones of Detroit, MI, (2) sisters Thelma Jones of Indianapolis, IN and Mary Ann Jones of Detroit, MI,(1) brother Clarence Jones (Kecia) of New Baltimore, MI, (3) brother- in laws, Ronnie, Steve, and Phillip Bouland of Rochelle, IL, (2) sister-in-laws, Phyllis Grasty of DeKalb, IL, Melody Bouland, of Pearland, TX and, 14 nieces and 15 nephews and a host of other family and friends.
James was born in Shreveport, LA on May 23rd 1952. He is an honorary, life time member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors Houston Local 31 in which he was a member for 40 years. He was a career elevator and union man, working for Otis Elevators for 32 years. James was then elected to serve as Business Representative of Local 31 and later elected for two terms as Business Manager until his retirement in January of 2013. James was very passionate about his work and adored his family and friends. He was an avid sports fan, especially for his Houston Texans. He will forever be remembered for his kind heart and will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him. James never met a stranger and treated everyone with love. He revered the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and lived by them daily. "I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear." Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
