Ms. Jacqueline Sue Holmes' Obituary
Ms. Jacqueline Sue Holmes, 80, passed away peacefully on April 21st, 2019 in Houston, Texas. Jackie was born on April, 5th, 1939 in Bogalusa, Louisiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John T. and Hattie Holmes, and her siblings Helen Mitchell, J.D. Holmes, J.W. (Buster) Holmes, Willie Mae Woodward, Myrtis (Skeeter) Strahan, and Charles R. Holmes.
Jackie is survived by her sister-in-law and life-long friend, Evelyn Holmes, and countless nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces, and great-great nephews and great-great nieces. One of her greatest joys was her family, and she was looked upon by all of the children as a matriarch, counselor, and friend.
Jackie attended Elim Church for close to 40 years and served faithfully in many areas of ministry and community service. For most of her early adult life she worked as an executive secretary in the oil and gas industry.
Jackie loved music, travelling, and most of all spending time with her friends and family. She cherished time spent with her "kids" (especially the great-nieces and great-nephews). Her life was a beautiful example of service, generosity, and unselfish love.
She will be dearly missed by her loving family and a host of friends.
